Number Sense

Numbers and number sense are the basis of the math curriculum. In the primary grades, students learn whole numbers and the whole number system, as well as ways of representing numbers. Then they quickly progress to the operations of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. They learn how to use computation skills and to make reasonable estimates.
